Hypnos
Description:
All works oil on tracing paper, allowing the drawings to merge with the fabric of the chapel.
Over 100 sleeping animals – Set into chapel windows and resting amidst the wealth of Mayfair.
These images allowed me to research the ways animals sleep and for this group show draw each morning these kaleidoscopic creatures.
‘Sleeping artists’ arose from all those busy creatives that rested and reflected during lockdown.
As a response to the chapel and the year gone – nature’s unconsciousness, the park trees, the church’s byzantine icons and the devastation of animal life motivated these drawings for Hypnos.
